A few months after my daughter Evelyn arrived in heaven, God gave me a verse in Isaiah as a promise:
"The children you will have,
After you have lost the others,
Will say again in your ears,
‘The place is too small for me;
Give me a place where I may dwell.’
21 Then you will say in your heart,
‘Who has begotten these for me,
Since I have lost my children and am desolate,
A captive, and wandering to and fro?
And who has brought these up?
There I was, left alone;
But these, where were they?’”
Before this I felt the call to be a mother to the motherless in India. Over the next 3 1/2 years He led me to this verse time and time again, and the pull on my heart for the orphans in India became stronger and stronger. I prayed and wrestled with God, asked crazy specific prayers to get confirmation after confirmation, and He answered them loud and clear.
Now, writing this on the morning of Mother's Day 2014 there are two orphan boys sleeping a few feet from me, whom have recently been entrusted to me. Praise be to our Heavenly Father and Lord Jesus Christ! One of them just now woke up with a big smile and came quickly to my side to embrace me with his little head resting on my shoulder. I don't actually consider myself their mother yet, but as my partner Daniel said yesterday, "you aren't anything less than their mother." What an honor to know that because of God's sovereign plan and many miracles, after only five months in India, I have a house and two boys to look after and raise up as disciples of Jesus.
There are still many more stories to be played out here in India as there are more children that I believe are meant to be under my care in this children's home, who also fulfill the promise in Isaiah. One of the girls, Manga, even did actually "whisper" in my ear to take her with me to my home, after she found out I was staying in India and had a house... all this after a dream I had of her telling me she wanted to come with me, and then one of her and Krupa walking out of the hostel with me as if escaping from captivity. I have been working with them for the last four months running an after school Bible class at a struggling orphanage. The physical conditions there are not even sub par, given there is no proper shelter, bathing facility or toilet. Their health and hygiene is not maintained to the level in which I believe they deserve, and their emotional needs are somewhat neglected. Their education is not funded and the school they attend will not equip them for the future they deserve. The founder is a Christian and well meaning but the realities still exist. Shortly after I found this orphanage and began visiting the children multiple times a week, God began speaking to me that these children were the children in the Isaiah verse, that I was there to free them from "captivity, and specifically he spoke to my heart about the two girls mentioned earlier, Manga(13) and the other Krupa(9. Krupa didn't speak more than two or three words when we first started visiting. As we loved on her and worked with her, she now says her name and a handful of other words, and is eager to answer questions and raise her hand to pray. She is very smart as we have witnessed, but just struggles with communication. She might be autistic, we don't know. She was found on the street by the police and for the last 9 months or so has been living at this hostel. She isn't enrolled in any school and no one there has been engaging her much. We got her tested at one disabled school and tried to enroll her but transportation was a problem and we couldn't get the go ahead from the founder. We are still praying about these two girls to move into our current house, and we would love to take all of them once land is secured and a facility is built.
The vision I have for the future is a "little sanctuary" for orphans somewhere in a rural area, where they can live and learn with a garden, farm animals, and a playground...where the primary goal is to raise them as disciples of the Lord. God has spoken to me through many verses about conquering the land, the land to be given, inheriting the land, and I believe it will come to pass. Right now I am running as a branch of another ministry with five children's homes, and in the next year I am planning to partner with an American couple who have started a ministry and moved here about the same time I did. They are currently going through the process of becoming a registered orphanage. I have also partnered with a nonprofit in the States called Jesus 4 Kidz who currently supports two children's homes in India. I am praying and asking for monthly sponsors for my children's home, Lovelyn Academy. You can donate through my new online ministry's website, Treasured Jewel, at www.treasuredjewel.org.
God can speak very personally to us in His word, and since I have been in India, he has spoken new things to me given my new surroundings and purpose.
For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,
And do not return there,
But water the earth,
And make it bring forth and bud,
That it may give seed to the sower
And bread to the eater,
11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
-Isaiah 55:10-11
God could fulfill these promises in this life or the life to come, and whether my ministry reaches 2 people or 2,000, the truth stands:
Lift up your eyes to the heavens,
And look on the earth beneath.
For the heavens will vanish away like smoke,
The earth will grow old like a garment,
And those who dwell in it will die in like manner;
But My salvation will be forever,
And My righteousness will not be abolished.
-Isaiah 51:6
Regarding Land:
Therefore say, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Although I have cast them far off among the Gentiles, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet I shall be a little sanctuary for them in the countries where they have gone.”’ -Ezekial 11:16
For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land. Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be My people, and I will be your God. -Ezekial 36:24-28
“Buy my field which is in Anathoth, for the right of redemption is yours to buy it.”’
-Jeremiah 32:7
You have given them this land, of which You swore to their fathers to give them—“a land flowing with milk and honey.” Jeremiah 32:22
Regarding the Orphans:
I will set up shepherds over them who will feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, nor shall they be lacking,” says the Lord. -Jeremiah 23:4
‘For it shall come to pass in that day,’
Says the Lord of hosts,
‘That I will break his yoke from your neck,
And will burst your bonds;
Foreigners shall no more enslave them.
9 But they shall serve the Lord their God,
And David their king,
Whom I will raise up for them.
-Jeremiah 30:8-9
Therefore do not fear, O My servant Jacob,’ says the Lord,
‘Nor be dismayed, O Israel;
For behold, I will save you from afar,
And your seed from the land of their captivity.
Jacob shall return, have rest and be quiet,
And no one shall make him afraid.
11 For I am with you,’ says the Lord, ‘to save you;
-Jeremiah 30:10-11
“Also the sons of the foreigner
Who join themselves to the Lord, to serve Him,
And to love the name of the Lord, to be His servants—
Everyone who keeps from defiling the Sabbath,
And holds fast My covenant—
7 Even them I will bring to My holy mountain,
And make them joyful in My house of prayer.
Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices
Will be accepted on My altar;
For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.”
8 The Lord God, who gathers the outcasts of Israel, says,
“Yet I will gather to him
Others besides those who are gathered to him.”
-Isaiah 56:6-8
And I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land; I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, in the valleys and in all the inhabited places of the country. I will feed them in good pasture, and their fold shall be on the high mountains of Israel. There they shall lie down in a good fold and feed in rich pasture on the mountains of Israel. 15 I will feed My flock, and I will make them lie down,” says the Lord God. 16 “I will seek what was lost and bring back what was driven away, bind up the broken and strengthen what was sick; but I will destroy the fat and the strong, and feed them in judgment.” -Ezekial 34:13-16
Regarding My Current and Future Ministry/School/Orphanage:
“I will make a covenant of peace with them, and cause wild beasts to cease from the land; and they will dwell safely in the wilderness and sleep in the woods. I will make them and the places all around My hill a blessing; and I will cause showers to come down in their season; there shall be showers of blessing. Then the trees of the field shall yield their fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase. They shall be safe in their land; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I have broken the bands of their yoke and delivered them from the hand of those who enslaved them. And they shall no longer be a prey for the nations, nor shall beasts of the land devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and no one shall make them afraid. I will raise up for them a garden of renown, and they shall no longer be consumed with hunger in the land, nor bear the shame of the Gentiles anymore. Thus they shall know that I, the Lord their God, am with them, and they, the house of Israel, are My people,” says the Lord God.’ -Ezekial 34:25-30
The city shall be built upon its own mound,
And the palace shall remain according to its own plan.
19 Then out of them shall proceed thanksgiving
And the voice of those who make merry;
I will multiply them, and they shall not diminish;
I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.
20 Their children also shall be as before,
And their congregation shall be established before Me;
And I will punish all who oppress them.
-Jeremiah 30:18-20
Behold, I will gather them out of all countries where I have driven them in My anger, in My fury, and in great wrath; I will bring them back to this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely. They shall be My people, and I will be their God; then I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear Me forever, for the good of them and their children after them. And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from doing them good; but I will put My fear in their hearts so that they will not depart from Me. Yes, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will assuredly plant them in this land, with all My heart and with all My soul.’ -Jeremiah 32:37-41
I know that the Lord will maintain
The cause of the afflicted,
And justice for the poor.
13 Surely the righteous shall give thanks to Your name;
The upright shall dwell in Your presence.
-Psalm 140:12-13
Regarding Me Personally:
For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
-Philippians 1:21
Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead. -Philippians 3:8-11
For he has sent to us in Babylon, saying, ‘This captivity is long; build houses and dwell in them, and plant gardens and eat their fruit.’” Jeremiah 29:28
How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your God reigns!" -Isaiah 52:7
But you will not leave in haste or go in flight; for the LORD will go before you, the God of Israel will be your rear guard. -Isaiah 52:12
If you extend your soul to the hungry
And satisfy the afflicted soul,
Then your light shall dawn in the darkness,
And your darkness shall be as the noonday.
11 The Lord will guide you continually,
And satisfy your soul in drought,
And strengthen your bones;
You shall be like a watered garden,
And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.
12 Those from among you
Shall build the old waste places;
You shall raise up the foundations of many generations;
And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach,
The Restorer of Streets to Dwell In.

Thus says the Lord:
“A voice was heard in Ramah,
Lamentation and bitter weeping,
Rachel weeping for her children,
Refusing to be comforted for her children,
Because they are no more.”
Lamentation and bitter weeping,
Rachel weeping for her children,
Refusing to be comforted for her children,
Because they are no more.”
Thus says the Lord:
“Refrain your voice from weeping,
And your eyes from tears;
For your work shall be rewarded, says the Lord,And they shall come back from the land of the enemy. There is hope in your future, says the Lord,
That your children shall come back to their own border.
And your eyes from tears;
For your work shall be rewarded, says the Lord,And they shall come back from the land of the enemy. There is hope in your future, says the Lord,
That your children shall come back to their own border.
